Broadcast Australia is currently seeking an enthusiastic Commercial Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will provide financial, analytical and forecasting support to enable senior management to make informed and appropriate business decisions, with a heavy focus on evaluating organic growth and M&A opportunities as Broadcast Australia enters its next period of significant growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment of business growth opportunities including analysis of risk, profitability, revenue and cost management
  • Analysis of key market and industry trends and activities

 Electrician (Working at height)

Broadcast Australia is currently seeking an enthusiastic Electrician to join our team. The position will be based in our Brisbane office and will require travel throughout Australia.

This role requires experience working at heights as well as an Electrical Fitter Ticket.

Key responsibilities:

Taking a leading role, perform electrical installations and maintenance on radio and broadcast sites (masts, towers, poles and electrical plants) around Australia

  • Terminate and install feeders, waveguides and coaxial cable (training will be provided)
  • Provide assistance to the team leader in the hauling and installation of waveguides feeders & coaxial feeders
  • Installation of underground duct, cables and earthing
  • Have ability to take charge of components of the project
  • Assist in the EMR Surveys
  • Assist in the installation of Rigid line
  • Assist in the installation of low & high Power transmitters and associated equipment

Qualifications and skills required:

The ability to work away from home in remote area’s for expanded periods of time

  • Able to work in a small team environment
  • Current Electrical Fitter Mechanic or Electrical Fitter Ticket
  • Working at heights experience
  • Drivers Licence (minimum car - truck is a plus)
  • Any relevant certificate(s) to operate plant would be an advantage
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Have basic computer skills
  • Ability to understand, analyse and conduct work from structural and technical plans
  • Shown ability to work in a team completing activities that are efficient and completed in a safe manner

 Financial Analyst

Broadcast Australia is currently seeking an enthusiastic Financial Analyst to join our team. You will perform a key role in providing financial, analytical and forecasting support to enable senior management to make informed and appropriate business decisions.

This role requires strong analytical skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines working with numerous stakeholders and complex technical inputs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advanced financial modelling techniques and methodologies including equity valuations, cash-flow analysis, profitability analysis, costing models and capital expenditure for Broadcast Australia’s core business
  • Development of new models, business plans, business cases, forecasts and KPI’s for the portfolio of group companies including overseas businesses
  • Input into financial aspects of customer bids and proposals, including pricing review, project cash flow analysis, risk analysis and sensitivity analysis.
  • Providing the analysis to allow actual contract performance information to be fed back into pricing and estimating activities

Qualifications and skills required:

Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Accounting/ Finance

 Inspection Technician (Climbing)

Broadcast Australia is currently seeking an enthusiastic Inspection Technician to join our team to conduct broadcast site inspections throughout Australia. 

This role requires you to work away from home in remote areas for extended periods of time.

To apply for the role you must have your Basic Riggers Certificate and have experience climbing and working at height.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete inspection surveys of structures and antenna systems
  • Compile reports outlining current condition of the assets and structural integrity
  • Complete Electromagnetic Energy (EME) Surveys
  • Identify and carrying out minor maintenance work

Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

  • Basic Riggers ticket
  • Current, full Drivers license
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Experience in report writing
  • Experience of working from structural and technical drawings

 Project Engineer

Broadcast Australia is currently seeking an enthusiastic Project Engineer to join our team.

You will play a key role in developing and implementing broadcast engineering projects in the MF and HF domain.

To be considered you will need significant experience in a technical role within the broadcast or telecommunications industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop MF and HF antenna modelling and design of MF antennas and coupling units
  • Design facilities for the implementation of analogue (AM) and digital (DRM) radio broadcasting systems in MF and HF domain
  • Provide hands-on assistance to installation and field teams with building, assessing, adjusting and modifying existing and new MF antenna coupling units
  • Provide assistance to planning teams in MF and HF transmission field strength measurements and coverage assessment
  • Develop and maintain asset management plans
  • Evaluate and select equipment
  • ·Develop “bid briefs” and provide technical support to project managers during the implementation of managed or portal services for Broadcast Australia clients
  • ·Provide engineering/technical advice to Broadcast Australia departments and clients
  • Undertake inspection and commissioning of Broadcast Australia facilities and other field operations as required

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Engineering or significant experience in a technical role within the broadcast or telecommunications industry
  • Qualified for entry as an associate member of a professional engineers group
  • Experience in the broadcast industry
  • Experience with RF systems, especially in the MF and HF domain
  • High level skills with spreadsheets (Excel)
  • Full driver’s license
  • Knowledge of drawing packages and databases
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to take initiative

 Communications Rigger

Broadcast Australia is currently seeking an enthusiastic Communications Rigger to join our team to perform work on radio or broadcast sites around Australia.

This role requires you to work away from home in remote areas for extended periods of time.

To be considered you will need a minimum NTIS accredited Basic Riggers ticket and a minimum of 3 years experience as a Communications Rigger.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out, conduct and/or assist in:
  • The installation, dismantling and maintenance of masts and towers poles
  • The hauling and installation of waveguides feeders & coaxial feeders
  • The installation of underground duct, cables and earthing
  • The marking out of a work site from reference pegs or points to the prescribed tolerances
  • The installation and maintenance of earth station antennas
  • The installation of Rigid line
  • The installation of low & high Power transmitters and associated equipment
  • EMR Surveys

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Minimum of a NTIS accredited Basic Riggers ticket
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Rigger within a communications works area
  • Hold Current mast rescue certificate
  • Drivers Licence Car & Light rigid truck
  • Hold the relevant certificate(s) to operate plant

 Rigging Site Supervisor

Broadcast Australia is currently seeking an enthusiastic Rigging Site Supervisor to join our team to manage, install and deliver broadcast and telecommunications project site works.

This role requires the ability to travel extensively.

To be considered you will need experience in broadcast and telecommunications installations as well as experience with RF systems, hazards, installation and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install facilities for analogue and digital, radio and television broadcasting systems as well as telecommunication systems
  • Supervise sub-contractors and site workers with respect to safety, quality of workmanship, progress of work and completion to scope
  • Ensure appearance and safety of the site, including reporting any safety incidents
  • Ensure all applicable specifications and standards are met
  • Provide engineering and/or technical advice as appropriate to internal departments and external clients

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Experience in broadcast and telecommunications installations
  • Experience with RF systems, hazards, installation and standards
  • Practical understanding of OHS legislation
  • Ability to travel extensively
  • Willingness to climb as required

 Senior Project Engineer (Pre-Sales)

Broadcast Australia is currently seeking an enthusiastic Senior Project Engineer to join our Pre-Sales Support team.

Working from our Sydney or Canberra office, you will provide engineering/technical advice and solutions to other departments as well as external clients.

This role requires experience in the telecommunication and/or broadcast industry, deep technical knowledge and good interpersonal skills to liaise with customers, suppliers, internal colleagues and government.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create innovative solutions to meet or exceed customer requirements
  • Design and cost facilities for the implementation of communications systems (particularly broadcast)
  • Provide technical support to project managers during the implementation of managed services for Broadcast Australia clients
  • Keep abreast of current and emerging technologies
  • Provide engineering/technical advice and solutions to internal departments and clients
  • Undertake inspection and commissioning of Broadcast Australia facilities and other field operations
  • Inform all Broadcast Australia departments of issues pertinent to them
  • Develop technical specifications for Broadcast Australia projects and equipment

 Structural Engineer

Broadcast Australia is currently seeking an enthusiastic Structural Engineer to join our team to analyse, design, review and supervise the construction of structures for broadcasting systems. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform new structural designs as assigned by structural asset team or as part of a project team ensuring compliance to relevant standards
  • Review structural designs by Engineering team ensuring they comply with scopes and standards
  • Examine existing integrity of structures
  • Compile a report based on the standards and loadings with the recommendations to the Structural Manager
  • Develop criteria for assessment by applying best industry practice / standards
  • Be actively involved with the reinvestment planning around structures
  • In accordance with the ‘BA Group OHS Management Structure: Functions, Roles and Responsibilities’ policy, maintain safe individual working practices and take active steps to maintain your own safety and that of others, ensuring that all incidents and potential hazards are reported

Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of local experience and registered
  • Experience in conducting on-site assessments together with the preparation of accurate reports;
  • Thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, OHS regulations, standards and specifications

Broadcast Australia is currently seeking an enthusiastic Team Assistant to support the Corporate Directors and to provide office administration services in support of the Finance, IT and Commercial teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Booking of domestic and international travel and accommodation for all team members
  • Organization and reconciliation of monthly Amex and personal expense claims
  • Preparation of agenda’s, presentations and reports for meetings
  • Organisation of team building activities and strategy days
  • Organization of catering or refreshments for meetings as required
  • Assist the Media and Communications department with the organisation of company and customer functions
  • Attendance and typing of minutes for various meetings
  • Providing of relief reception as required

Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

  •  6-12 months previous general office administration experience
