Infocasting Trials In Sydney

Since 2003, and using a DVB-T platform, Broadcast Australia has been demonstrating how Digital Television can deliver alternative video, audio and text infocasting services to the mass market. Interactive infocasting services using the ‘Multi-media Home Platform’ (MHP) standard are also being delivered as part of the trial.

Services Provided 7 video, 5 audio and 4 interactive services;
Video Program Guide;
Religious, Shopping channel;
“Surf-Cam”, “Traffic-Cam” information;

State Government information such as Health,
Education, Rural Fire Service information, public transport and events.
Modulation Scheme 64QAM; 1/32 GI; 2/3 FEC; 7MHz; 8k carriers (21 Mbit/s)
Trial Activities Coverage survey assessment and field tests;
Service configuration of a “non-television” multiplex;
Automated dynamic publishing systems;
Hosted a shared interactive services publishing system;
Program contribution links over IP networks (video and audio); and
Consumer Market Research.
