Broadcasting breakthrough uses onsite-generated green power
26 August 2010: Broadcast Australia has commissioned its first broadcast transmission site to be majority-powered by renewable energy. The Mount Owen site near Queenstown in Tasmania has been recently upgraded to use site-generated wind and solar power, which are together expected to reliably meet the site’s 8kW power needs for 80 to 90 per cent of the time.
Green Light for Wireless Communications In New York City Subway Stations
30 July 2010: Critical infrastructure provider Broadcast Australia has signed a deal with US business Transit Wireless to roll out wireless communications infrastructure across the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s subway system.

Brisbane Community TV Goes Digital
09 June 2010: Brisbane’s Community TV watchers have this week joined the digital age with their local station 31 commencing a retransmission of their analogue signal in digital. Leading broadcast transmission provider Broadcast Australia is working with 31 to deliver this service to Brisbane’s metropolitan area.

World’s first 3D TV terrestrial transmission is on air
19 May 2010: Broadcast transmission specialist Broadcast Australia has today become the first to broadcast three-dimensional television (3D TV) signals terrestrially over the air. The trial 3D TV service was switched-on in Sydney by Broadcast Australia and in Brisbane by TX Australia at 00:00 this morning.
Digital Radio Trial for Canberra

Sydney niche DTV trial ends
30 April 2010: Broadcast Australia will today switch off its Digital FORTY FOUR niche digital television (DTV) services, following a January 2010 decision by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) to end the trial licence. Although disappointed that Sydney television viewers will no longer benefit from these popular services, the company hopes this decision will lead to the announcement of key decisions on future broadcast spectrum policy.

10 March 2010: Broadcast Australia, has assisted Television Sydney (TVS) to become the first community television service in Australia to broadcast in digital. Delivering the fully managed TVS transmission service from its Gore Hill site, Broadcast Australia is now providing coverage of the new digital program to the metropolitan Sydney area. The TVS transmission can be found on digital channel 44.

Niche Television Services to Cease Broadcasting in Sydney
29 January 2010: Broadcast Australia has today received notification of a final extension of the Sydney market niche digital television channel trial licence known as Digital FORTY FOUR to 30 April 2010, but is disappointed that the Australian Communications and Media Authority has announced its intention not to renew the trial licence beyond this date.
