Spares and Repairs
17 Dec 2008
The newly established National Repair Centre (NRC), located in Bald Hills Queensland, has been designed to coordinate the management and dissemination of vital operational assets for Broadcast Australia network. This includes the asset records of installed infrastructure and the management of uninstalled "spare parts" infrastructure.
The NRC, one of the many improvement programs established to deliver an improved quality and consistency of service, will bring together the management of assets, fault response and repair, preventative maintenance and performance testing as required.
The key areas that the NRC have responsibility for are:
• Asset Management System (AMS);
• Module repairs;
• Storage of national spares;
• Purchasing of spares ;
• Warranty management;
• Supplier and third party repair agent liaison;
• Performance reporting on equipment;
• Asset disposal;
• Management and auditing of spares and
• Coordination of module repairs and spares management throughout the network.
By streamlining these processes into a "one stop shop", Broadcast Australia is improving our network management responsiveness and efficiency and enables us to improve the quality of services across our network.
