Broadcast Australia’s Board of Directors oversees the performance and activities of the Executive Management Team to ensure the best interests of its shareholders, customers and the community are met. The Board provides an independent and objective view of Broadcast Australia’s business and strategic direction and ensures the company adheres to the highest standards of corporate governance.
The Board has more than 60 years of combined experience in the broadcast sector and substantial experience at senior levels in major companies, both in Australia and overseas.

Gerry Moriarty AM, FTSE, FIEAust, FAICD

Chairman, Broadcast Australia

Gerry joined Macquarie Bank on 1 August 2002 and was appointed Chairman of Broadcast Australia at the time of the listing of Macquarie Communications Infrastructure Group on 13 August 2002.

Before his appointment to Broadcast Australia, Gerry was Group Managing Director, Infrastructure Services, at Telstra Limited. During his career at Telstra, Gerry held a number of senior positions including Group Managing Director, Telstra Infrastructure Services and Wholesale; Group Managing Director, Telstra Network & Technology; Chairman, NDC Limited; and CEO of Telstra Multimedia Pty Ltd. Prior to joining Telstra, he was Managing Director, Broadcast Communications Limited; Corporate Director, Television New Zealand Group; and Assistant Managing Director (Resources), ABC.

Gerry is a Director of the Bionic Ear Institute.

Graeme Barclay

Graeme was appointed Managing Director of Broadcast Australia in April 2002 following its acquisition by Macquarie Communications Infrastructure Group Limited, having held the roles of CFO and COO prior to that.

Graeme's focus is to ensure that the Broadcast Australia Group's strategy and execution continues to deliver shareholder value underpinned by the objectives of high value cost effective customer service excellence, an engaged workforce and a safe work environment for all.

With 25 years of financial and commercial experience, Graeme's previous positions include Partner and Head of Corporate Finance at Arthur Andersen and Executive Director at Macquarie Group, providing him with a wide range of skills to balance strategy, market dynamics, customer and shareholder objectives.

Graeme is Chairman of The Bridge Networks and Hostworks and is a Non-Executive Director of Radio Frequency Engineering and Airwave Solutions Australia.

Robert Wall

Principal - Infrastructure, CPP Investment Board

Robert joined the board of Broadcast Australia in July 2009, following the acquisition of Macquarie Communications Infrastructure Group by CPP Investment Board.

Prior to joining CPP Investment Board in 2007, Robert worked as a Senior Engineer with Buro Happold Limited, Bath, United Kingdom. Previously he was an Engineer with Beca Carter Hollings & Ferner Ltd, Wellington, New Zealand.

Robert holds an MBA from Queen's University, Canada, and a Bachelor of Engineering, Honours, Civil Engineering from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand.

Malcolm Long LLB MAICD

Malcom Long, who joined the board of Broadcast Australia in March 2011, is Principal of the media and communications consultancy Malcolm Long Associates Pty Ltd.

He is currently Chairman of the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) and Chairman of the Australian Centre for Broadband Innovation. For 10 years until mid-2010, he was a Member of the Australian Communications and Media Authority and before that the Australian Broadcasting Authority. He was Executive Director of the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) from 2003 - 2007.

From 1993-97 he was Managing Director of SBS Corporation and prior to that Deputy Managing Director of the ABC. Earlier he was Director of ABC Radio.

Malcolm has been a Director of the Macquarie Communications Infrastructure Group and of Pan TV Limited which produced the World Movies subscription TV channel. He has also been Chairman of the London-based International Institute of Communications.

Andrew Darling

Andrew joined the Broadcast Australia Board in March 2011.

He is a Senior Principal in the Infrastructure team at CPP Investment Board having previously had a banking career focused on international and corporate finance in Europe and North America.
