Executive Management Team

Graeme Barclay

Managing Director

Graeme joined National Transcommunications Limited Australia (ntl A now Broadcast Australia) in 1999 as Finance Director and was appointed Managing Director in April 2002 following the acquisition by Macquarie Communications Infrastructure Group Limited.

Graeme’s focus is to ensure that Broadcast Australia realises its potential by harnessing the technical and commercial skills of its staff as well as its unparalleled national infrastructure to deliver high-value, cost-effective services to our customers.

With over 15 years of financial and commercial experience, Graeme’s previous positions at Arthur Andersen include Head of Corporate Finance, Partner and Director of Corporate Finance, and provide him with the skills to balance customer satisfaction against commercial requirements.

Graeme is Chairman of The Bridge Networks and Hostworks as well as being a Non-Executive Director of Radio Frequency Engineering (RFE).

Clive Morton

Terrestrial Media Services Director

Clive relocated from England to Sydney during 1999 to take up his role as Director with ntl A (now Broadcast Australia) and has been instrumental in the establishment of Broadcast Australia in the commercial broadcasting landscape within Australia, with a particular specialisation in the planning and development of Digital Television transmission infrastructure.

With the distinct advantage of a technical background, holding a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and an Advanced Diploma in Television, Clive has held senior positions in product and client management, operations and project delivery. During 1998 Clive’s experience was combined in the one project with the rollout of the world’s first national digital terrestrial television network, in the United Kingdom, during 1998.

Clive oversees the Terrestrial Media Services team which focuses on the development of Broadcast Australia’s broadcast business, the introduction and development of digital broadcast services and its products. He is also responsible for technology trials in digital radio, mobile television and Datacasting and the management of ABC and SBS accounts.

Stephen Farrugia

Engineering Director

Stephen joined the broadcasting industry in 1989 as an undergraduate Engineer with the Department of Transport and Communications and has worked his way through several roles before his promotion to Engineering Director in 2002.

He was working with the National Transmission Agency (NTA), which was privatised in 1999 and acquired by ntl A (now Broadcast Australia), and has been an integral in the successful transition of the business from government agency through to private ownership.

Instrumental in the research and subsequent development of digital transmission services in Australia for all broadcasting mediums, Stephen and his team of 50 diverse engineers are continually developing the industry and its capabilities to ensure the successful rollout and sustained longevity of digital and analogue transmissions around the country.

Warwick Potter

Operations Director

Warwick joined the National Transmission Agency (NTA) during 1995 as Network Construction Manager following a successful engineering career with the Australian Army; he remained with the NTA successor organisations, ntl A and Broadcast Australia, following privatisation in 1999.

Whilst working with the Australian Army, Warwick gained experience in the planning, project management and delivery of all major facility projects in New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia as well as several infrastructure and civil aid projects in the South West Pacific region.

As Operations Director, Warwick leads a team of specialist operational staff, including the management of subcontractors and consultants, who are engaged in support of site facilities management, field maintenance and design and build activities. His logistics and human resources experience supports his team who are often located around the country for extended periods of time to optimise operational management of the transmission network.

Elyssa Rollinson

Commercial Director

Elyssa joined Broadcast Australia in 2003 as Commercial Manager and was appointed Commercial Director in 2006. Elyssa manages an ever growing team of diverse analysts who assess new business opportunities and contribute to development of the company’s business plans.

Elyssa worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers for 8 years before relocating to London to gain valuable commercial experience during roles at BBC Technology and Securicor plc (now Group 4 Securicor). Through Elyssa’s involvement in large scale bids, innovative new business models evolved to create value for customers and the business.

Elyssa leads her team through the fine balance of political, financial and technical project and investment risk against the company’s commercial objectives.

Brett Savill

Chief Financial Officer

Brett joined the Broadcast Australia Group in 2007 as the Chief Financial Officer. Prior to that, he was a Director at Mainsheet Corporate, an advisory and consulting firm; a London-based Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers focused on the technology, media and telecoms sectors; and a Commercial Director at Paravision, a French film production and distribution company.

Brett and his team are responsible for managing the financial, commercial support and property functions for the Broadcast Australia Group.

Malcolm Keys

Director Telecommunications Group and CIO

Malcolm joined Broadcast Australia in 2005 as Chief Information Officer, responsible for the IT division and the New Products division developing convergent broadcast products such as Mobile TV broadcasting. Malcolm also oversees the strategy development of the Telecommunications Group, focused on emerging initiatives within the fixed and wireless telecommunications sector. This includes site sharing, wireless data services, fixed infrastructure, emergency / public mobile radio and government radio networks.

Before arriving at Broadcast Australia, Malcolm worked with Crown Castle International (CCI) as their National IT Manager. CCI specialise in the co-locate of wireless transmission equipment and Malcolm’s key role was to oversee business process re-engineering, IT systems development and Sarbanes Oxley compliance. Prior to this, Malcolm was the Director of Business Development for iSport UK, the developer of a mass market sports administrations and publishing systems. His most significant achievement, as a foundation partner of iSport, was the expansion from Australia to the UK market leading to strong growth and a successful trade sale of the business in 2001. Prior to this Malcolm has held a variety of positions with Australian telecommunications companies and IT consulting firms.

Malcolm brings strong leadership skills combined with 17 years of product development and information technology management to Broadcast Australia. He is currently completing his Masters of Management, to accompany his Honours degree in Industrial Design.

Michael Berg

General Counsel, Company Secretary

Michael joined Broadcast Australia in 2001 as General Counsel and Company Secretary after spending time in private practice and working as in-house counsel to the ABC.

As the principal legal advisor to the business, Michael is responsible for the provision of timely and practical advice and works with his colleagues to look for workable solutions that add value to Broadcast Australia and its customers and suppliers.

Michael supports the Board as Company Secretary and is responsible for Broadcast Australia’s insurance portfolio. He plays an active role in the company’s risk management programs.

Chris Jaeger

Managing Director - International Business

Chris commenced working at Broadcast Australia during 2005 and has over 25 years of engineering and business management experience in the Broadcasting and Telecommunications industries.

Chris, who is a Member of the Institution of Engineers Australia and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, has worked with broadcasters and Government regulators in many countries throughout the Asia-Pacific region over the last 15 years.

Chris and his team are working with in-house specialists, drawing upon their broad experience and expertise, to develop and deploy analogue and digital infrastructure and systems integration to suit the industry requirements of the Asia-Pacific region.

Chris is Chairman of Radio Frequency Engineering (RFE).
