Broadcast Australia has entered into an agreement with Southern Cross Austereo (SCA). The initial 15-year agreement to manage and operate the network will provide over 500 radio and TV transmission services for SCA nationally. SCA is also transferring its transmission assets to Broadcast Australia, which is working towards full integration by March 2020.

Through this agreement, Broadcast Australia’s expertise will deliver reliable and efficient performance, while reducing risk for SCA.

This outsourcing is a logical step for SCA, consistent with the group’s strategy of delivering content and media platforms and moving away from asset intensive activities that can be delivered by specialist service providers.

Stephen Haddad, chief technology officer, SCA

Broadcast Australia’s long-standing relationships with ABC and SBS are complemented by a recently established relationship with Network 10 and, now, SCA. These partnerships enable the broadcasters to focus on their core business of delivering engaging content.

Broadcast Australia is at the forefront of broadcast transmission in Australia. It continuously invests in its people, network, and technology to ensure it is providing exceptional service and anticipating customers’ needs.

Broadcast Australia works with public and commercial broadcasters to help them improve efficiency and focus on delivering great Australian and international content. This new agreement strengthens our role as the industry’s neutral host provider and partner of choice. We look forward to working with SCA to ensure a strong future for both companies.”

Peter Lambourne, CEO, Broadcast Australia

Broadcast Australia has the largest broadcast transmission reach in the country. This reach has facilitated first-class national television and radio broadcasting services since 1928.  It also enables telecommunications network solutions to be delivered across metro and rural areas.
