SYDNEY, Australia – 17 June 2019 – Broadcast Australia, a BAI Communications company, and Network 10 have announced an exciting new partnership, reaching an agreement for the transmission of Network 10’s free-to-air broadcast channels: 10, 10 Bold, and 10 Peach.

Through this partnership, Broadcast Australia will now be the provider of choice for Network 10, providing high-quality services to one of the Australia’s leading commercial broadcasters and working collaboratively to develop Network 10’s free-to-air terrestrial platform.

Broadcast Australia has extensive heritage of experience delivering reliable network quality to Australians across metro and rural areas. With the largest broadcast transmission reach in the country, Broadcast Australia has a long history of delivering resilient broadcast and telecommunications network solutions. BAI Communications and Broadcast Australia are at the forefront of embracing the latest trends and generating innovative solutions, investing in digital technologies with a long-term focus in the creation of common, fast, high-capacity infrastructure to hosts multiple users and applications simultaneously, for today and into the future.

Most recently, Broadcast Australia was a key player in the successful completion of trials for the next generation of broadcast technology, delivering 4K picture quality for broadcast television channels. This is a substantial leap forward in the level of definition and colour quality – four times better than the current high definition standard – as well as offering greater programming flexibility for broadcasters.

Broadcasting in Australia is on the cusp of another evolution and key to ensuring a competitive and successful future will be the industry’s ability to collaborate. As the need for reduced costs and risk drive increased efficiencies in the operating model for the industry, there will need to be an acceleration of a cooperative approach. By utilising a neutral host like Broadcast Australia to provide reliable, scalable, high quality transmission services, broadcasters can focus on their core business – delivery engaging content.

“At Broadcast Australia, we are honoured to be the transmission services provider of choice for Network 10. This partnership presents exciting opportunities for both organisations and ensures certainty of service, continuity and reliability for Australian audiences. This collaboration celebrates our shared commitment to connect all Australians and enrich our communities with information, entertainment and services. We are excited to embark on this journey with Network 10, one of Australia’s leading broadcasters,” said Peter Lambourne, CEO, Broadcast Australia.

“The broadcast industry continues to evolve, advancing to challenge, meet and adopt ongoing shifts in technology to deliver new immersive experiences to viewers reliably and efficiently. We’re excited about this partnership with Network 10 and look forward to working together to pave the way for an exciting future and new generation of broadcasting.”

Transition of 10’s transmission services to Broadcast Australia from TX Australia will start immediately and there will be no disruption of 10’s services for viewers through this process.
